Notifications can be added or edited from the Notifications screen. To create a new notification, click the Add button on the toolbar. To edit an existing notification, select the notification in the list and then click the Edit button on the toolbar. The Notification Wizard will appear.
- Notification Event Type. There are two types of notifications: Tracking Activity and System Administration. Tracking activity is for package notifications and system administration is for notification about system events, like a user being added, a status being changed, etc.
- Status Trigger. The package status that triggers the notification. When packages are submitted with this status, notifications will be generated and sent.
- One notification per recipient. When enabled, one notification will be sent for packages processed at the same time that are intended for a single recipient instead of individual notifications for each package.
- Enable Delay. When enabled, the notification is not triggered until the specified number of days, hours, and minutes has elapsed since the package was last processed.

Note: The difference between a standard notification and a reminder notification is the use of the configuration settings in the Timed Event section.

The method the notification will be delivered. Choose from:
- E-mail. An e-mail or SMS message will be sent.
- Application/Executable. A program on the computer hosting the TekTrack Service will be executed.
- HTTP Post/Get. TekTrack will send an HTTP post or get to a web server.
Create an e-mail template to be delivered for the notification.
- To, CC, BCC Fields. The manner that e-mail recipients are addressed. There are three different types of e-mail recipients that can receive an e-mail. Use any one or more of the following:
- Users. You can select one or more users from the drop-down list to receive the notification. When you first set up a notification, it may be beneficial to BCC your own user account so a copy of the actual notification e-mail will also be delivered to you.
- Location. When enabled, the current location will receive a copy of the notification.
- Destination. When enabled, the package's destination will receive a copy of the notification. This setting is typically enabled to send e-mail notifications to recipients.
|
Note: Since e-mail addresses are optional, notifications are not sent if none of the intended e-mail recipients have an e-mail address.
|
- Subject. E-mail subject. Even though the subject line does not have a variable list next to it, notification variables will also work in the subject. It is recommended that you create the variable you want in the body and then cut and paste it in the subject line.
- Message. Body of the e-mail. A list of notification variables are available and can be inserted directly into the message.
- Name. Unique name for the notification.
- Description. Optional description for the notification. The description is for administrative purposes and is only visible on the Notifications screen.
- Enabled. When enabled, the notification is operational.
