In TekTrack, processing is the act of entering information for a new package arrival or updating the status and information for a package that has been previously processed.  The Process screen is the primary screen for performing package processing activity.

Processing typically occurs in stages and packages are usually processed in multiple stages after arrival.  The initial stage is when a package is processed for the first time, indicating that it has been received.  The last stage is when the recipient takes ownership of the package. Depending on your requirements, you may want to process packages additional times between these stages. You will need to create additional statuses to represent those stages in your workflow.

When a package is processed, TekTrack automatically records the time and use processing it. There are three other pieces of information that a user is required to provide to satisfy TekTrack's audit requirements:

  • Location. Current location where the package is being processed.
  • Status. The package's current stage within the workflow.
  • Package ID. The full barcode or tracking ID of the package.

Other information can be captured at the same time. For example:

The fields above are all available in TekTrack right out of the box.  If  needed, you can add custom fields as Package Fields to store additional information relevant to your operations.  For example, you could add PO#, vendor, and sender fields.  TekTrack keeps a detailed audit history of all the information captured each time that you process a package.
